In Europe after many struggles, and with great joy I have the great opportunity to start with substitutions in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, at that time the first step was to play in the Vienna Opera Orchestra at the “Wiener Staatsoper“, in In reality, it is the Philharmonic Orchestra itself, only for a matter of processes and learning, the first thing is to know the repertoire of Opera and then according to the performance of the member and the way of musical and sound coupling to an Orchestra which perhaps has one of the most beautiful sounds among the Symphony Orchestras in the world. If you manage to connect, they decide to let you advance to be part of the “Philharmonic Concerts“, as this is the highest level and it means the opportunity to do world tours, play in the most recognized concert houses around the world where the Vienna Philharmonic always has a place. In all this process I have lived ten years of my life.

After this wonderful experience, I decided to stop playing the violin, due to the great pressure I felt in the Orchestra, I felt very lonely. I lost the motivation to practice and began to have health problems such as “panic attacks and nerves” apart from all this ,my father José Oscar Torres Arango passed away during my last tour with the Orchestra, he was touring, I no longer know in which country and it was impossible for me to travel to his funeral. I will never forget everything that happened and for all these events.

During this season I had the great honor of recording several Symphonies in the most beautiful concert house that I have seen in my life “Wiener Musikverein” in the city of Vienna, a whole musical temple full of tradition, and with the great nine symphonies of one of the most important composers of all time “Ludwig Van Beethoven“, all directed by the magnificent German conductor Christian Thielemann. It was just at this moment when I knew that it was the end of this stage and that I had to move on but in a different way. I didn’t want to know anything more about the world of classical music and I practically disappeared from it, I left the violin for two years and I entered my world. In this time of distance, of reunion with myself, I lived in one of the most beautiful regions of Austria, in the Austrian Alps. There I learned to be more human and to put my feet back on the ground, life hit me hard, especially because of the great distance that I had with my family and the personal events that I was experiencing, this marked me and changed me forever. In this situation of deep depression I began to transform myself musically, I saw, perceived music and life differently, new musical genres began to influence me and I began to discover new musical worlds. It is a very strong time where I was faced with dealing with people, situations that I never imagined, I learned a lot from life, I learned great lessons such as knowing that the most important thing is the family and what is the basis of every human being.

I had made many mistakes and one of those and the biggest had been to escape from everything, even from the people who loved me the most, life is a learning, experiences and we are here for that, from all this my life is transformed and I am reborn in another way, stronger but serene and I find again the connection with my own external and musical world.

Professionally I learned what exists behind the artists and I became a Manager, all this happens in a period of seven years. Years of learning in musical productions, organizing tours and artistic events. Behind an artist there are many people who help him to expand artistically. We artists are human beings with a very high sensitivity and there are events which are difficult to handle, I want to let you know and tell you that not everything was beautiful, the road has been full of thorns, but that in the end it becomes a beautiful rose and It depends on ourselves and our mental strength to overcome and get ahead. If life brings you to your knees, get up again and again, don’t give up.

I took advantage of that time working as an artistic manager for different musicians in the jazz genre. In this stage I traveled all over Europe, I have organized concerts, I learned to play some works of the style and also a little improvisation, which helped me a lot and later began to define my own style.

Along this path I was part of the production team where we received very important recognitions such as a Latin Grammy nomination and 4 gold medals at the Global Music Awards in an Album of which I was also part as a violinist. An excellent musical production, an excellent handling of the Booking Manager, the Tour Manager, the personal assistance to the artist helps us to develop very well, feel safe to be able to get our full potential on stage. After this experience, I decide to return to my life with the violin in hand and put everything I learned into practice.

I have had the great honor and fortune of being recognized and awarded with my first production “Renacer” with 2 Gold medals at the “Global Music Awards” – California (USA) in December 2018 “Best Artist & Best Album”, later with my second production “Cuatro Estaciones” with 2 Silver medals at the “Global Music Awards” – California (USA) in November 2019 “Best Duo & Best Album”.

In December 2020 I was nominated at the “Hollywood Music in Media Awards” in the category “Outstanding Instrumental Performance (Violin)” for the first time in my artistic career with the work “Improvisation in Summer”, a theme that unites my both productions “ Renacer ”&“ Cuatro Estaciones ”and in which I was the winner on January 27, 2021 at the“ Hollywood Music in Media Awards ”Gala in Hollywood (USA).

Yamaha Colombia, Yamaha Latin America and Thomastik Infeld – Vienna, are those who believe in me, two great companies that have chosen me as an exclusive artist, for me it is a great joy to be part of these families. I count for my tours with the support of a great Toyota hybrid car brand “Toyota Sapper” Austria.

Currently I have the honor of being a voting member of the Recording Academy – Latin Grammy as well as a voting member of the “Hollywood Music in Media Awards”.

In my artistic path I have been able to count on the teachings of great masters, not only of the violin but also life masters, I have traveled through many countries and I have met excellent artists and human beings who enrich my artistic life.

I am grateful every day for a full artistic life, I constantly learn with great joy and I thank my family that has believed in me at all times, they have supported me unconditionally. Also to my production team who help Alejandra Torres to fulfill all of her dreams.

The daily struggle to be better accompanies me every second of my life, I like to have a creative life and above all full of gratitude, humility and humanity.
